**If a rider is showing in 2
divisions, the rider MUST specify PRIOR to competing what division they wish to
accumulate points. If the rider does
not specify OR begins showing without specifying, the higher division will
automatically be counted.**
**Riders may only show in
the Trail Class for the division in which they are accumulating points**
Lead line – (English and Western)
Children 7 years of age and under as of January 1st 2009. May show in Showmanship, Halter Lead line Trail and Walk-Halt classes.

4, 6 or 7,13, 14, 15, 1A
Walk-Halt – (English and Western) Open
to riders any riders 18 and under showing in either lead line, driving or any walk-trot division only. We ask that riders
confident and/or seasoned in showing trot/jog classes refrain from entering
this division. The purpose of these
classes is to transition a rider from lead line, provide classes for children who are not quite ready to trot or
to help a rider gain confidence after a set-back.

(English & Western) Open to riders
of any age who are unable to participate in other divisions without
accommodations. Attendants are
permitted to enter the arena with the competitor if needed.

Pee-wee – Open to Western riders 10
years of age and under as of January 1st 2009 (walk/jog only).

10 years of age in their 1st and 2nd year of showing. (walk/
jog only).

Cross Rails –
Open to English/Hunter riders.
Classes 48 & 49 are for riders keeping points in
either the Mini Stirrup or English Novice divisions. Course will be 4-6
18”
cross rails.
Classes
54 & 55 are for riders keeping points in Short or Long Stirrup
divisions. Course will be 6-8 18” cross
rails.
Riders
showing the Hunter Division may also compete in the cross rail classes 54 &
55.
Hunter Division – (Horse and Pony – split if
entries warrant) Open to riders of any age 18 and under as of January 1st
2009.
Protective headgear must be worn by all riders in over fence classes
Hunter
Hack – pony fence height 2’, horse fence height 2’6”
Fence
height for Pony classes will not exceed 2’ 6”.
(fence height may be set at 2’ for ponies 12.2 and under)
Fence
height for Horse classes will not exceed 3’.
Pony
height is defined as 14.2 hands and under for hunter classes
**Ponies
may be measured at the discretion of the show committee and judge**

Open Driving – The open driving division
is open to children drivers of any age.
The appropriate Showmanship class, Halter class and classes #20, 21
& 22 are pointed for this division.
Gloves, whip and apron/lap robe are required for all drivers.

Showmanship, 20, 21, 22
Open Gymkhana – This division is open to ALL CHILDREN RIDERS SHOWING ANY SEAT. Riders showing in walk-trot/jog classes for points are eligible to show in classes 37, 39, 41, 43. All other riders are eligible for classes 38, 40, 40, 42.
GRAND PRIX CLASSES
In
the tradition of the term Grand Prix, meaning “Grand Prize”, the Grand Prix
classes will be judged upon the suitability of the mount to the rider, way of
going of the horse/pony and equitation.
These classes are being offered in lieu of stakes classes in the spirit
of a Children’s Show. Though money may
not be awarded, special ribbons and prizes will be awarded in these
classes. Riders may only show one Grand Prix Class.
The
English/Western walk-trot (jog) classes (#35 and #57) are for riders showing in
walk-trot (jog) classes for points.
All
other riders are eligible for the respective English and Western classes #36
& #58.
At
the discretion of the show committee classes may be combined or divided as
entries warrant. Under circumstances deemed unsafe by the show committee
classes may be cancelled.
CONDUCT EXPECTATIONS FOR COMPETITORS
The
WRC Children’s Show Series is meant to be a fun, family oriented and
competitive environment for riders 18 and
under
to demonstrate their horsemanship skills. Unsportsman like conduct will not be
tolerated by competitors, trainers, parents and/or spectators. This includes but is not limited to the
mishandling of an equine and unacceptable language.
If
unsportsman-like conduct is observed, the competitor may be asked to leave the
grounds and forfeit any and all
entry fees. Trainers, parents and spectators displaying such behavior will be asked to vacate the premises.
ENTRY FEES
All entries will be charged a $5.00 number fee. This is refundable upon return of the number at the conclusion of showing. A new number will be issued for every horse/rider/division combination. A $5.00 Grounds fee will be applied to each entry except to 2009 WRC members. Pre-entries must provide a photocopy of the membership card with the pre-entry form. Once a photocopy is on record it does not need to be resubmitted for subsequent shows. Post-entries must present membership card at the Secretary’s Stand.
The Pre-entry fee is $5 per
class.. The $5.00 office fee will also be waived with pre-entry (see
attached entry form).
Pre-entries for the May 23th
show must be postmarked by 5/16.
Pre-entries for the July 11th show must be postmarked by 7/3. Pre-entries for the September 5th
show must be postmarked by 8/29.
Pre-entry fees will only be reimbursed with a doctors/vet excuse prior to the beginning of the show.
Post-Entry Fees are $7.00 per class. A $5.00 Office Fee will also be required.

ACCUMULATION OF POINTS
Each rider/driver in a class
will be awarded one point for entering and exhibiting in the
class regardless of placing. These
points will count toward the year-end awards. Points will be calculated for all
three shows, however only points from two shows are eligible for year-end
awards. Riders/Drivers competing in all
three shows will automatically drop their lowest point accumulation.
Points
for placing will be as follows: 1st
= 6 pts 2nd = 5pts 3rd = 4 pts 4th = 3 pts 5th = 2 pts 6th = 1pt
If
a division is not full (6 riders/drivers) points will be awarded based on the
number of participants.
Ex. If there are 4 riders, 1st place
will be awarded 4 pts, 2nd 3 pts etc.
