David Stone, this year's commodore, teaches beginning and intermediate sailing. Classes are private lessons on the water at Rose Valley Lake, scheduled at the convenience of instructor and student. The cost is $15 per hour with a membership in the Williamsport YMCA or $20 as a non-member.
Students may sail in their own boat or in a Hunter 170 or a Sunfish. Stone, who has been sailing since he was 8 years old, has a U.S. Sailing Instructor's Certificate.
