The
Alpine Club was formed in 1953 as a way of maintaining the newly formed
Loyalsock Trail (LT). Today the club still maintains the LT through a
series of work hikes in the spring, but also has monthly hikes in Northeastern
and Northcentral Pennsylvania throughout the entire year. The membership
is comprised of people from all age groups, and backgrounds, including retirees,
doctors, school teachers, students, and various other occupations. All
are welcome to attend outings and club meetings. Our monthly hikes
typically leave from Sovereign Bank in South Williamsport, PA, and we
carpool to the area of the hike. The hikes that we offer are day hikes
ranging in length from 2 to 10 miles. In addition to hikes, we also
cross-country ski, snowshoe, bicycle, and canoe. Membership is
open to everyone. New Coloring for LT Trail Blazes"
