Hike Schedule

The Alpine Club was formed in 1953 as a way of maintaining the newly formed Loyalsock Trail (LT). Today the club still maintains the LT through a series of work hikes in the spring, but also has monthly hikes in Northeastern and Northcentral Pennsylvania throughout the entire year. The membership is comprised of people from all age groups, and backgrounds, including retirees, doctors, school teachers, students, and various other occupations. All are welcome to attend outings and club meetings. Our monthly hikes typically leave from Sovereign Bank in South Williamsport, PA, and we carpool to the area of the hike. The hikes that we offer are day hikes ranging in length from 2 to 10 miles. In addition to hikes, we also cross-country ski, snowshoe, bicycle, and canoe.  Membership is open to everyone.

Your help is needed! Volunteer to help with the Keystone Trails Association (KTA) 'Trail Care' on the Loyalsock Trail on Saturday, September 25. More info.

New blazes have a yellow disc with a red LT - as seen to the right

The change began in 2009 and will take place over approximately three years. Before the change is complete, there will be sections of the Loyalsock Trail with all old blazes, other sections with a mixture of old and new blazes, and still other sections with all new blazes.

Be cautious at intersections with Red X trails which are blazed with yellow discs bearing a red X
