Hiking Information:
All Alpine Club hikes
MEET AT THE PARKING LOT OF THE SOVEREIGN BANK IN SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT.
It is located on Southern Avenue, between Market and Hastings Street, near the
southern end of the Market Street Bridge. We generally hike
regardless of weather conditions. Hikers must stay behind the leader
and must not depart from the group. The transportation fee is
collected by the leader and distributed to the drivers. Bring lunch, snacks, and water, and be prepared with clothing and shoes suitable for the weather and terrain. Click here for more information |

Sunday, March 15 - Hike, Tureen Dinner and
Annual Meeting
Hike meet time: 8 a.m. Charlie Schwarz will lead an easy
4-mile hike at The Williamsport Watershed. Tureen Dinner and Annual Alpine Club
Meeting: starting at 5:30 p.m. Helen & Charlie Schwarz will host
it at their house at 1405 Pine Crest Drive in South Williamsport.

Hikes
Leader: Ruth Rode (570) 322-5878 John Eastlake will co-lead the April 18 and 19 Trail Care Hikes The KTA will be
doing trail care on the LT on the weekend of April 17-19 and Alpine
Club members will join KTA efforts. A work hike is scheduled for
Saturday, April 18th and a half-day work hike for Sunday, April
19th, beginning at 8:00 both days. |

April 26 PA Chapter of The Nature
Conservancy Hike: Wildnerness Way to The Haystacks
Leader: Ruth Rode (570) 322-5878 Meet time: 1 p.m. at the junction of Routes 154 and 220 near Laporte, PA The hike starts at the Mead Road Parking Lot and follows an old haul road to The Haystacks, a mystery to geologists. It returns along Brook Kedron. Approximately 2 miles. |

May 31 Naval Run and Gas Line Ridge Leader: Bob Webber (no phone) Transportation Fee; $3.00 Hike meet time: 8 a.m. Car poolers will meet Bob at the Slate Run bike parking area between 9 and 9:30 a.m. We will follow Naval Run past waterfalls and walk logging railroad switchbacks to near Route 44. There, we will decide whether or not to extend the distance of the hike (to 14 miles). Bob will lead us on the Gas Line Trail past his house and vistas and on down to Slate Run. Distance: 11 to 14 miles. |

Hike meet time: 8 a.m. We will follow Mosquito Creek
through its gorge and enjoy the fall colors. There will be some
bushwhacking on this relatively flat hike, in a region that the Alpine
Club has not explored in recent years. |

Additional Outdoor Activities
Weekday Eagles Mere and Mokoma Conservancy Hikes
- Thursday and occasionally Tuesday hikes from the end of June
through Labor Day. Hikers meet at the Outlet Pond along Route 42 in
Eagles Mere at 9:30 a.m. Pennsylvania Hiking Week Events, Special Hiking Weekends and Meetings - Keystone Trails Association Canoe and Kayak Trips - Canoe Susquehanna
