June. 3, 2007 Gillespie Point Trans. Fee $3.00 Leader: Bob Webber (No Phone)Bob will meet us at the Robert McCollough Parking Area (Rail Trail at Blackwell) for this 6 – 7 mile hike. After walking to Big Run Road, hikers will ascend Gillespie-Mid-State Trail to view. Trail will be followed down Brill Hollow. Then we’ll follow Big Run Road and Rt. 414 to Blackwell. If Time, hike can be extended on Mid-State Trail to falls on Jerry Run.

Swamp Run Waterfalls and Railroad Grades
Trans. Fee $3.00 Leader: Roz Yannaccone 570.649.5388 This 5 - 6 mile hike will follow a railroad grade from Hoagland Branch Road to Swamp Run. Then a woods road will be ascended to see waterfalls. We'll bushwhack steeply up a slope for a short distance to rejoin railroad grade and descend to the site of an old trestle and switchback as we return to another waterfall and long slide falls. After crossing stream, we will retrace steps on a railroad grade and woods road to Hoagland Branch to end hike. |

Hiking Disclaimer: Hiking Information: All hikes depart at 8:00 AM unless otherwise noted in the schedule. MEET AT THE PARKING LOT OF THE SOVERIGN BANK IN SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT. It is located on Southern Ave., between Market and Hastings Street. This is near the Southern end of the Market Street Bridge. we hike regardless of weather conditions. Hikers must stay behind the leader and are not allowed to depart from the group. Transportation fee is collected by the leader and distributed to the drivers. The Alpine Club of Williamsport and/or it's leaders, officers, or representatives shall not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to person and/or property, direct or consequential, arising out of any trips and/or activities of the Alpine Club. The assumption of risk, which is inherent in this type of outdoor and rugged activity, is implied on the part of each person who attends any Club trip. Every person participating in said trip and/or activity assumes all risk and liability in connection therewith. Any person under age 18 who desires to attend an outing of this club, while not accompanied by parents or legal guardian, must have parent or legal guardian sign Assumption of Liability Form prior to each outing. Any member or guest has the right to decline being transported to and from an event with or by another individual. Be prepared with clothes and shoes suitable for the weather conditions. Also bring your lunch.
