Lucy Sallstrom-Barrera watched at least 25 Cedar Waxwings on Mill Street in Montoursville. August 30 & 31, 2008
Katie Bell photographed two Eastern Screech Owls (one red, one gray) sitting on a tree in the Vallamont section of Williamsport. The following day she observed a Northern Saw-whet Owl in the same area, and heard a 2nd one. June 23, 2008

Jim Green spotted a couple of White-crowned Sparrows in his Williamsport yard, and also observed or heard these species in the nearby woods: Wood Thrush, Great-crested Flycatcher, Gray Catbird, Ovenbird, and Red-eyed Vireo. May 3-4, 2008
During Lycoming Audubon Society's field trip to Rose Valley Lake, the 14 participants observed about 20 species, including Common Mergansers and Long-tailed Ducks. April 5, 2008
Sandra Gorka and Jacob Miller observed 2 Bald Eagles, 1 Tundra Swan, and other species at
Little Pine State Park.

Laurie Cressman observed 100 Ring-necked Ducks, 50 Bufflehead, 12 Common Mergansers, 12 Hooded Mergansers (saw one dive, get a fish and eat it!), 25 Horned Grebes, 15 Canada Geese, 2 Blue Herons and a pair of Wood Ducks, all at Rose Valley Lake.

Norwood Frederick saw  2 adult and 1 juvenile Bald Eagles in flight between Marsh Hill & Bodines

Several sightings of the Peregrine Falcon(s) that winters in downtown Williamsport have been reported, primarily from the 'Williamsport Beltway' between the Market St. Bridge to the Faxon exit. Jan. & Feb. 2008
Joan Sattler and Gary Metzger watched 20 or more Common Redpolls at their farm's thistle feeder near Loyalsockville. Redpolls also were common in northern Lycoming County this winter. January 10, 2008
